Midway University’s School of Business, Equine, and Sport Studies has officially launched a new Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club), offering students exciting opportunities to explore innovation, business creation, and leadership.
The new club was created in partnership with Awesome Inc, a leading organization supporting Lexington’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. With Awesome Inc’s funding and mentorship, Midway students will have early access to hands-on experiences, professional guidance, and connections to a thriving startup community.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Entrepreneurship Club to our campus community,” said Dr. Jeb Gorham, Professor of Sport Management and Botkin Professor. “Through this partnership, our students can build creative ideas from the ground up, gain insight from industry professionals, and develop the skills that make them future-ready.”
The club’s launch comes at an ideal time for students who are exploring the Entrepreneurship Minor—a program designed to help students from any major learn how to innovate, take smart risks, and turn their passions into purpose-driven ventures.
Dr. Gorham, who serves as the faculty advisor alongside Professor Amy Sheikh, says the club is open to students from all academic backgrounds. He added that it is the goal of the club to engage high school and middle school students in the area through entrepreneurship competitions.
