Financial Aid Process
Our Financial Aid staff is here to assist students applying for financial aid and determining all the possible funding sources available to them. From understanding the importance of completing the FAFSA each year to see how much aid you may be eligible to receive, and what your aid will cover to learning about our payment options and deadlines, we are here to assist you. Below is a quick guide to the first part of the financial aid process followed by a Financial Aid Resource List.

| Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) | Complete the FAFSA online as soon as possible each year to maximize your eligibility for state and federal financial aid. Be sure to list Midway’s school code, 001975. A FAFSA must be completed every year that a student is in college. |
| Follow-up with any necessary paperwork and forms | Each year, certain FAFSAs are selected by the federal government for review in a process called verification. If your FAFSA is selected for verification, you will be notified on your Student Aid Report (SAR) and then by email regarding the necessary documentation you need to provide. Financial aid awards will not be made until verification complete, so be sure to respond to requests for information and meet deadlines. If you are due a refund, you will need to complete the refund process. |
| Talk to our Financial Aid Counselors | Let us know about any special circumstances you and your family may face. If you and your family experience any unusual circumstances that will have an impact on your finances such as divorce, death of a parent or loss of employment, please let us know. Contact our office for more information about how these types of circumstances could qualify you for review process called professional judgment. |

Financial Aid Resources
FAFSA
The most important thing you can do to get started is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (Midway’s School Code: 001975). This is the financial aid form required by the government to be considered for grants (federal and state), Work-study, Federal Direct Loans, and Federal PLUS Loans for next year.

Tuition and Fees

Student Account
The Midway Business Office handles student accounts and the staff is available to answer account questions and assist with payments.
Payment Options
Midway University offers a variety of payment plan options to meet your financial needs. Plans are available for fall, spring and summer terms.
Loan Programs
View the loan programs available to students. These include Federal Director Loans, both subsidized and unsubsidized, Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) and private loans. Also available to some students is the interest free Bagby Loan.
Employer Reimbursement
Complete the online reimbursement form to have a detailed invoice generated for your employer. This may take up to 5 business days to process.
Grants
Learn about grant programs available to students. A completed FAFSA is required to determine eligibility for these type of awards.
Work Study
The Federal Work Study (FWS) program is funded by the federal government and the University and is designed to provide jobs for eligible students who may earn funds to assist with a portion of their educational expenses. Eligible students are assigned part-time jobs on campus while school is in session.

Summer Financial Aid
The summer term is generally considered an extension of the prior academic year for financial aid purposes. Students must apply for financial aid for the summer through a special form.
