Additional Information
If a grievance is related to an area for which there are not defined procedures, students may take the following steps:- Whenever possible, the aggrieved student should first discuss the matter with the person or persons directly involved in an attempt to resolve the grievance through informal discussion.
- If there is no resolution, the aggrieved student should discuss the matter with the supervisor to whom those directly involved report. The supervisor will attempt to mediate an informal resolution.
- If there is no resolution, the aggrieved student should write a statement giving all pertinent information, sign and date the statement, and submit it to the Vice President of Admissions & Student Affairs, either in person or by mail. An e-mail or a conversation does not constitute the submission of a grievance.
- The Vice President of Admissions & Student Affairs will determine which University administrators should handle the issue and work with that individual to ensure that the grievance is investigated and, if the grievance is determined to be valid, that any appropriate actions to resolve the grievance are taken.
- The Vice President of Admissions & Student Affairs will maintain a record of all grievances addressed through this process.
