Midway University's Christmas Vespers Concert, held on Wednesday, November 29 at the Anne Hart Raymond Center’s Duthie Auditorium, showcased the impressive talents of the Midway University Chorale and the Northside Elementary School Choir. Chorale Director Randall DeMerchant curated a program that skillfully captured the essence of the holiday season, beautifully illustrating the transition from Fall to Winter.

The Chorale's performance featured timeless carols and heartwarming contemporary arrangements, including renditions of classics such as “The First Noel” and “Autumn Gives Her Hand to Winter.” These selections effectively conveyed the joyous sentiments associated with the holiday season. Additionally, solo performances by students Megan Drath, Leonor Gutierrez, Rachel Mathias, Benjamin Spencer, and Maddison Williams highlighted the individual talents within the group, ensuring a diverse and engaging musical experience for the audience.

The concert also boasted special guest performances by the Louisville Bourbon and Brass Company, along with the talented young voices of the Northside Elementary School Choir. Their renditions of "Seasons of Joy" and "In the Spirit" added a refreshing and heartwarming quality to the overall performance. Makayla Brooks, a sophomore in the Midway University Chorale, remarked on the Elementary Choir's contribution, stating, "The Elementary choir definitely added an exciting layer to the night. Their energy really helped make the concert even more special."
