
Eileen Merberg, the Executive Director of Alpha Lambda Delta, announced a new chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta was formally installed at Midway University in Kentucky, on Thursday, October 15. This marks the 382nd chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta since its inception over 95 years ago.
The chapter at Midway University was installed in an online ceremony by Executive Director Merberg and Professional Member-at-Large Travis Martin. Chapter advisor Dr. Carrie Christensen, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, was instrumental in founding this new chapter on campus. The chapter was presented with a hand-calligraphed charter featuring names of the 14 founding members and 1 honorary member of the Society.
“Alpha Lambda Delta honors students for their first-year higher education excellence,” said Dr. Christensen. “Invitations to Midway University students were extended to those who earned a 3.5 or higher in their first semester of college experience.”

On behalf of the entire National Council, Executive Director Merberg welcomed the new chapter, and all its members, at Midway University. Executive Director Merberg stated, “We wish to emphasize the chapter’s responsibilities to uphold the ideals and high academic standards of Alpha Lambda Delta. Members will be encouraged to demonstrate their scholarship, honor, and enthusiasm for learning, and prove a creative working force on the Midway University campus for “‘we must pass our torches on, one to another.’”
