  • Midway University Presents President’s Award

(Midway, Ky.) – During its 2016 Commencement ceremony, Midway University presented its President’s Award to Eden Wimpsett of Bardstown, Ky.

The President’s Award is the highest honor bestowed upon a Midway University graduate and is presented to a graduate who has demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service.  Moreover, the recipient of this award must have maintained at least a 3.75 grade point average.

While at Midway, Wimpsett was a member of the Western Equestrian and Hunt Seat Equestrian and the Cross Country Teams. Additionally, this student she served as Student Government President for two years, an Eagle Prep Orientation Leader for three years, was inducted as a member of Tri-Beta, and participated in the Ruth Slack Roach Leadership Group, and the Midway Prayer Group for years.  Representing Midway University off campus, this recipient has served at the American Quarter Horse Congress, the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, the Kentucky Academy of Science, and was an intern at the Midway Small Animal Clinic.

“Eden is the embodiment of what the President’s Award at Midway University represents,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, President. “She has been an outstanding representative of this institution, both on and off campus. I know that she has a bright future ahead of her.”

During her four years at Midway University, Wimpsett completed two Bachelor degrees – a Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies with a Concentration in Equine Health and Rehabilitation and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
