Outside Scholarship Options

There are different places you can look for scholarships. The best way to get a scholarship is to look within your community (for example, student and parent employers, local businesses, community groups, churches, professional organizations). Communities like to support their residents, and students are more likely to get scholarships from a hometown than from a national organization that receives thousands of applications. It is usually a better use of your time to look locally for scholarship money, but there are some free online scholarship search engines that you may wish to try, such as:

GoodCall

KHEAA

FinAid

BigFuture

FastWeb

CareerOneStop

Don't Get Scammed!

Be careful to avoid scholarship and financial aid scams. Review this from the Federal Student Aid Office to help you recognize and avoid potential scams. The most important thing to remember is NEVER pay anyone money to set up an account or apply for a scholarship. That can be an indication of a scam.
