  • Alumni Spotlight - Cole Ballard '17 '22

January 17, 2024

Cole Ballard received his bachelor’s in business administration in 2017 and his MBA in 2022 from Midway University. In the summer of 2016, Cole found himself looking for another college to finish up his last year after his school closed. He decided to come to Midway because, on the visit with his golf team, the staff and coaches welcomed him with open arms. “They made us feel like “family” from the minute I stepped on the campus. Along with the warm welcome you could tell that something special was being built here and I wanted to be a part of that,” said Ballard. Today, Cole is the Accounting Assistant for Midway University.

Cole’s favorite experience at MidwayU was being a part of the first Men’s Golf Team and finishing 2nd in the first tournament MidwayU every played. Cole has a goal to play golf in all 50 states and has currently played in 11 of them. Cole has wonderful memories of walking across the stage at Graves Amphitheater to receive his diploma and now is part of the MidwayU “family” every day.

Cole’s advice to future Eagles is to live in the moment, take in the beautiful campus and being so close to town. These can be some of the best years of your life!

Cole enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, who is also an alumna. They have a dog, Bubba, and love spending time with him on the weekends. His favorite quote is “The only one who can tell you ‘you can’t win’ is you and you don’t have to listen” – Jessica Ennis-Hill.
