Volleyball

What other student organizations did you participate in?

Why did you choose MidwayU?
My aunt had attended Midway. I always admired her because she was educated and a lady, and when I saw the beautiful campus, I thought, "This is home!"

Favorite MidwayU Experience
Traveling with the choir to Corbin and London, Kentucky is etched in my memory of fun times at Midway. We left on our journey after completing the ACT test. We, ok, I might have hurried to finish and leave...While traveling on the bus, we sang our songs, which added to our fun as well as aided in memorization. Staying with classmates at home before singing at our hosts' churches was special. All the athletic games and practices with Ms. Parrish as our coach and friend brought fun and learning experiences (ex. removing a bug from the gym so we could resume play and being reminded to always be nice to our opponents).

Current place of employment
Retired middle school teacher

Skills Learned at MidwayU
I learned not only academic but also social skills.

Advice for future Eagles
Study your academics, participate in organizations, and enjoy making friendships that can last a lifetime.

What was your favorite thing about Midway?
I enjoyed sharing experiences with faculty, staff, and students. Sharing the good and not-so-good times always added to the "family" environment of the school.

What are some of your hobbies?
Trying to train my dog, singing, and traveling are my hobbies.

Interesting Fact About You
I did my student teaching in first grade but spent my career teaching and coaching middle school and high school students.

Anything else you would like us to know?
My classmates are still close and stay that way by communicating whether by phone or text or Facetime. The friendships we developed resulted in many days of laughter and support. Recalling different events from our time together always brightens our days!
