Midway University proudly recognizes Melissa Lippert Tomblin, a distinguished 2010 MBA graduate whose journey at Midway showcases dedication and community spirit.

Melissa, from Versailles, Kentucky, chose Midway University for its convenience, location, and the availability of its master's program. Reflecting on her choice, she shared, "Midway offered the perfect combination of convenience and quality programming. The beautiful campus and its proximity made it an ideal place for me to pursue my MBA."

Among her cherished memories at Midway are the fantastic friends she made. "Those Thursday nights after work in class were a lot of fun. The camaraderie and shared experiences made my time at Midway truly memorable," she recalled.

Currently, Melissa serves as the Executive Director of The Lighthouse Beacon Foundation. Her role allows her to apply the valuable skills she honed at Midway. "Midway taught me essential skills in communications and leadership. These have been crucial in my professional journey," she noted.

In addition to her professional achievements, Melissa is actively involved with Midway University. She serves on the alumni board and recently became the 2024-25 Vice President. Her continued commitment to the university exemplifies her dedication to giving back to the community that supported her.

Her advice to future Eagles is to be proactive in shaping their experience. "You make your own experience—intentionally try new things, think outside the box, and make lasting relationships," she advises.

Melissa's favorite aspect of Midway University is its picturesque campus. "It is a beautiful campus. The serene environment added to the overall positive experience," she reflected.

Outside of her professional and academic life, Melissa enjoys a variety of hobbies including going to the lake, cooking, reading, needlepoint, and traveling. An interesting fact about Melissa is that her number one CliftonStrength is Positivity, a trait that has undoubtedly contributed to her success and happiness.

She lives by the quote, "It doesn't cost anything to be nice," a principle that guides her personal and professional interactions.
