I'm a 2013 graduate of Midway with a major in healthcare administration and a minor in business administration. I am from Bardstown, KY and have lived there my whole life. I currently work as the administrative manager at Bluegrass Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center, in Bardstown. To me Midway means a chance to challenge yourself, further your education, and a place to find your passion. I attended Midway as an online student. I never thought I would have developed the relationship with professors that I did. I thought I would be just another student in an online class with professors who didn't care. I was mistaken. My professors were very helpful, they challenged me in each and every class and provided lots of feedback. They were always available to help or answer questions. I developed a passion for the healthcare administration field during my time at Midway, and it has since carried over into my career.
My experience at Midway was one of the best that I could have had, and I am thankful that I can give back as a member of the alumni board. Professionally, Midway has provided a solid foundation for starting my career. When I tell people that I am a graduate of Midway, they are instantly impressed and comment on the reputation that Midway has. I am getting married in October 2018, to my fiance Josh, so my spare time is spent planning our wedding right now. But normally in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, my black lab Titan, and shopping. I have a strong heart for adoption, and would love to adopt a child one day.
The best advice I have for future Midway grads is to stay connected to the school once you graduate! Being an active alumni is truly as rewarding as being a Midway student. It's exciting to see all of the changes that are going on at Midway and even more exciting to know that you can help foster these changes into play!
