Tania T. Orihuela graduated from Midway University in 2016 with a BA in Professional Studies and again in 2018 with her MBA, with a concentration in healthcare. She originally hails from Key West, Florida and currently resides in Versailles, Kentucky. During her time at Midway, she was voted President of Tri-Beta Mu Chi Chapter. Tania is currently CFO of Kentucky Marble and Granite, Inc and CFO of Kentucky Commercial Countertops.
Tania said Midway University holds a very special place in her heart. Being able to pursue her personal and professional goals was possible because Midway offered her a great support system.
“The professors are eager to help students succeed,” she said of her time at Midway. “Since I was not a traditional student, I was able to tailor and gain experience through classes that were going to enhance my skills as well as teach me ways to improve and implement my ideas.”

When asked her advice for future graduates, Tania stated, “As a non-traditional university student I was able to share thoughts and experience with traditional students. My advice is to understand your goals and what it will take to reach them. Be informed from the get-go. Plan your next four years by knowing what classes are needed and when they are offered. If you plan to pursue a BA or BS, research what is in demand within the field of studies so that you will be able to obtain a job in your field of expertise.”
“My children and grandchildren have been able to see that it’s never too late and with understanding and support from them I was able to pursue the dreams and goals I had. If there is one legacy I could leave to my family is to never give up, to always make the best of any and all situations, life is not all roses but choosing to smile while facing adversity will help you and all those around you rise up and challenge yourself to the best you can be.”
Tania enjoys singing, riding horses and looking for ways to participate in environmental research that will help the surroundings of her community and home life.
