Midway University proudly commemorates the 50th anniversary of its esteemed Equine Studies program. Established in 1974, the program has grown from humble beginnings into a globally recognized leader in equine education.

Located in the heart of Kentucky’s horse country, Midway University’s Equine Studies program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes hands-on learning experiences on a working horse farm, specialized concentrations in Equine Management, Rehabilitation, and Science, and innovative online courses in Equine Business and Sales. Over the past five decades, the program has consistently evolved to meet the dynamic needs of the equine industry.

Students at Midway have access to a large, diverse equine herd and state-of-the-art facilities, providing them with unparalleled real-world experience. The program’s graduates have made significant contributions to the equine industry, not only in Kentucky but also across the United States and internationally.

The achievements of Midway University's Equine Studies program were recently recognized by Representative Andy Barr of Kentucky, who honored the program in the Congressional Record. In his tribute, Rep. Barr highlighted the program’s growth, innovation, and its pivotal role in the equine industry over the past 50 years.

“We are incredibly proud of our Equine Studies program and its legacy of excellence,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, President of Midway University. “Our dedicated faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to create a program that not only educates but also inspires our students to achieve great things in the equine industry. We look forward to many more years of success and innovation.”
