Midway, Ky. - Midway University is pleased to announce that the 10th Annual Spotlight Awards will also serve as a celebration of the university's 50 years of excellence in equine education. This special milestone will be a central theme of the evening, highlighting the university's longstanding commitment to the equine industry. The event is set to take place the evening of Thursday, May 23, 2024, inside the Marshall Gymnasium on the Midway campus.

The Spotlight Awards evening is a celebration of individuals who have made remarkable contributions in representing women's issues, impacting the state of Kentucky and beyond, and showcasing innovation in their respective fields. It is also an opportunity for Midway University to honor someone who has made a significant impact on the institution. Community Trust Bank is the presenting sponsor and has been since the inception of the awards program.

This year, Midway University is proud to present the esteemed L.L. Pinkerton Vision Award to Donna Barton Brothers. As a highly respected figure in the equine industry, Donna Barton Brothers has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence and has become a beacon of inspiration for women everywhere. Her contributions to the world of horse racing and her dedication to empowering women in the industry are unparalleled.

The evening will also feature the presentation of the Midway University Legacy Award. This year, the Legacy Award recipient is Felicia S. Quigg, a trustee of the university. Felicia Quigg, along with her husband Bill, has contributed her time, service, and support to Midway University; most particularly, her efforts are impacting the current student body and leaving a legacy for future students. Her dedication and leadership have had a lasting impact on the institution.
