  • Midway University Announces Another Record Incoming Class & Fifth Straight Year of Enrollment Growth

September 21, 2020

Midway University once again announces record enrollment in its undergraduate class for the fifth consecutive year and its largest ever incoming class of 283 undergraduates (topping last year’s record class of 274). Total undergraduate daytime enrollment is now at 687 students. The University’s total enrollment including all evening and online undergraduate and graduate students along with dual credit students was 1,810 compared to 1,702 in 2019 and 1,668 in 2018.

“I am happy to report we are making great progress on our Strategic Plan regarding total enrollment. Our goal of enrollment for Fall 2020 (not including dual credit enrollment) was to reach 1,350, said Dr. John P. Marsden, President, Midway University. “We are now at 1,370, up from 1,343 last year.”

“Despite the many challenges we faced from the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, our entire faculty and staff worked diligently throughout the spring and summer months to continue smooth operations and that is clearly shown in our enrollment figures,” said Marsden. “We were thrilled to welcome the new class and returning students back to campus this fall.

“The last few years have seen many changes to our campus,” added Marsden. “This year before the students returned, the Hunter Field House was completed which includes a new auxiliary gymnasium, weight room and elevated walking track along with much-needed office space for the coaching staff. The Tracy Farmer – Don Ball Stadium was also completed to support the baseball team. Additionally, Marrs Hall was renovated to include a new Welcome Center and many of the administrative offices are in that building."
