
Will mark occasion with continuing education opportunity, reception
(Midway, Ky.) – Midway University will celebrate 50 years of excellence educating nurses in April by hosting a unique continuing education opportunity for nurses from across the state.
Scheduled for April 8, the six-hour event will focus on Healthcare Issues of Older Adults and will feature a rare appearance by keynote speaker Virginia Bell, MSW. Bell is the founder of the renowned Best Friends Model of Care, which is commonly used for patients who have Alzheimer ’s disease or other forms of Dementia.
“We are so fortunate to have Virginia Bell join us for Midway’s 50 years of nursing celebration. In addition to being a respected author and expert in Alzheimer’s care, she’s a gifted educator who will inspire everyone in attendance to make a difference through nursing,” said Dr. Barbara Kitchen, Dean of Midway’s School of Health Sciences.
The continuing education event will begin at 8:45 a.m. General registration is $50. Midway graduates will receive admission for $25 and current Midway nursing students may register for $10.
Following the conclusion of the event, Midway will host a reception at 4 p.m. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its nursing program.
