(Midway, KY) – Midway University’s 2016 Spotlight Awards, sponsored by Community Trust Bank, is set to be held Thursday, May 26. The awards evening is designed to highlight a female community leader, someone who has improved the lives of women or someone who has served as a strong role model for young women. In addition, the awards ceremony is a time for the university to bestow honors on someone who has directly impacted Midway University.
“The Spotlight Awards is one of the highlights of the year at Midway,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, President, Midway University. “As Kentucky’s only women’s college, it’s an honor to celebrate individuals who have dedicated their time and energy to improving the lives of women throughout the Commonwealth, as well as those who have helped us do the same.”
The evening will include a sit down dinner, a featured keynote speaker and two award presentations. The awards presented during the evening will be the Pinkerton Vision Award and the Midway University Legacy Award. See details below. Nominations are being sought for the Pinkerton Vision Award.
The Midway University Spotlight Awards will be held Thursday, May 26 on campus in the Piper Dining Hall. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and awards at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the dinner and awards ceremony will go to support ongoing academic programming and student scholarships at Midway University.
