Nursing Degrees at Midway

Midway University’s nursing school has been providing nursing education for more than 50 years. We offer nursing degrees from associate, bachelor, and master’s degree level. Our graduates are highly sought-after for their training and quality of care for their patients.

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Credit Hours: 64
Format: On Campus or Online/Hybrid
Length: Day Classes (4 16-week semesters, 2 years ) or Evening Classes or Online/Hybrid Classes (16 months)

The undergraduate nursing program curriculum has a dual focus. Classroom theory emphasizes the technical and theoretical aspects of nursing. Concentrated, supervised clinical laboratory experiences allow students to practice skills at several health care agencies in Central Kentucky. The ADN program prepares students to become registered nurses and qualifies them for seamless transition into our RN to BSN program. We offer an LPN-ADN Bridge program or ff you are a high school student, ask about our Fast Track Dual Credit Admissions Program into nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree: Prelicensure

Midway University’s pre-licensure Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) program combines general education courses with professional nursing theory, complex critical thinking, and clinical practice. Consistent with the mission and goals of the university, our BSN degree program prepares nurses as leaders who can provide health care to individuals, families, groups, and populations of diverse cultures in a variety of settings.

After graduation and successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), you will be on your way to practicing as a registered nurse in any number of healthcare settings. The BSN degree will also prepare you for graduate education and continued growth of your nursing career should you so choose.

RN-BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Format: Online
Length: 12 to 24 months

The online RN to BSN program is designed for working nurses. All coursework can be completed online (except two practicum courses), which makes our online RN to BSN program a convenient option for working nurses to complete their education. The BS in nursing degree can be completed in 12 to 24 months, so you can complete your education in the timeframe that best serves you. Students have the option to start five times throughout the year-January, March, June, August, or October.

Earning a master-level degree in nursing can elevate career options for nurses, leading into administration. There are several options available for advanced nursing degrees at Midway, and to help our nursing students, our tuition is the lowest in Kentucky.

The online MSN/MBA Dual Degree is designed to prepare nurses as professional leaders in a variety of healthcare settings, corporations, and communities. Students focus on professional role development, knowledge translation, quality improvement and safety, ethics and health policy, financial and resource management, and organizational leadership. The curriculum is designed so that graduates of the program can practice in a culturally and ethnically diverse global society.

Pre-Med Advising Program

Format: On Campus
Length: 4 years

Pre-medical advising at Midway University includes a variety of professional pathways including pre-medical, physical therapy, physician assistant, pre-osteopathic medicine, pre-podiatric, pre-dentistry, and pre-optometry. While programs vary in their requirements, typical coursework encompasses courses in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and mathematics. Many students on this path select a biology major and chemistry minor combination, but there are many degree choices that fit the pre-med advising program.

Online Health Care Administration Degree (B.S.)

The online Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration is designed to give students knowledge and experience in the area of health care. Psychology Degree (B.A.)

Format: On Campus or Online
Length: 4 years

Completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree program provides education for students who wish to pursue graduate study in the subfields of psychology, e.g., counseling, child development, or educational psychology. Students are also prepared for entry-level occupations in human services, including therapeutic, industrial, educational, or governmental positions. You can earn your psychology degree on-campus in our traditional semester format or online in our accelerated 8-week module courses

Format: The Alcohol and Drug Counseling Courses are only offered on campus.
Length: 4 years

Midway University's Bachelor’s in Psychology with an Alcohol and Drug Counseling concentration will provide training in the special skills and techniques required in the profession of addiction counseling. Courses for the degree in counseling cover the 12 core functions of addiction counseling (screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reports and record keeping, consultation).
