An amazing 100 percent of Midway’s Teacher Education graduates receive provisional licensure to teach in Kentucky following graduation.
You will get classroom experience.
All undergraduate Teacher Education students must complete 12 semester hours of student teaching during their time at Midway. This experience will give you an opportunity to observe veteran teachers and use skills you’ve learned in the classroom.

The Department of Education offers students degree programs in elementary, middle and secondary education and we offer a Master of Education degree.
The Bachelor of Arts program in Elementary Education prepares teachers to work in elementary schools. Graduates will meet the requirements for certification to teach primary through grade five in Kentucky.
The Bachelor of Arts in Middle School Education prepares teachers to teach in grades 5-9. Areas of emphasis can be English, Mathematics, Social Studies, or Science.
The Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education prepares students to teach in grades 8-12. Midway University offers certification in secondary education in Biology, English, and Mathematics.
The Midway University online M.Ed. program is designed for teachers who want to become Teacher Leaders. Kentucky teachers who complete the program can achieve Rank 1 or 2 upon completion.
The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program, designed for individuals who hold a bachelor's degree and want to become certified teachers in Kentucky's P-12 classrooms. There are several high-demand areas for initial certification.The program is offered in an online format to meet the needs of working adults.
