The world is more connected than ever, making this an exciting time to pursue a career in marketing. Because of the wide array and availability of messaging tools, today’s marketers must be able to integrate and coordinate them to share their organization’s story.
A Marketing Communications degree from Midway University can provide you with practical experience coordinating and integrating diverse communication tools to create campaigns that reach and influence consumers. Coursework in this major includes Photoshop, principles of marketing, writing for marketing, advertising principles, graphic design, public relations, and more.
Our graduates are prepared for careers in areas such as corporate communication, integrated marketing management, advertising, brand management, public relations, creative design management, promotions, and speech writing.
All students complete the core course requirements and then choose one of two concentrations in either writing or graphic design or select as a minor.
The graphic design program provides rigorous study and training in various aspects of business, communication, branding, and graphic design. Courses in this program introduce digital storytelling, animation, Photoshop, social media management, and brand management to prepare students for a wide variety of jobs.
The advertising and public relations fields are in need of strong writers. A Marketing Communications Writing degree from Midway University can provide you with the skills you need to write for many types of industry needs. Courses include introduction to journalism, advertising writing, and professional and political writing.
Earn a minor in Marketing Communications by completing 18 credit hours of coursework. From topics such as Principles of Marketing to special topics students can work with their advisors to select the coursework that best fits their individual goals.
Students are eligible as “full-time and “part-time” students for Federal loans and may be eligible for Federal and/or State grants. (A full-time student is a student taking 12 credit hours or more per term; a part-time student is a student taking 6-12 credit hours.)

Make sure you get the whole picture before making your decision. First, complete your FAFSA so you can see what financial aid you are eligible to receive and complete your application. Once you are admitted to Midway University, you can meet with our Financial Aid Office to discuss all the eligible aid (federal, state and institutional) that you have access to and apply for scholarships. This is the only way to figure out the true cost and if you will have any out-of-pocket expenses to cover.
Midway University accepts transfer credits from regionally accredited institutions that are 100-level or higher with a grade of “C” or better. At the time of admission, our Admissions Counselors will provide an unofficial evaluation of your transfer credit. An official evaluation will be completed by the Registrar’s Office after acceptance.
Traditional students may declare a major that is only offered online following the guidelines of the online major policy in the academic catalog.
