Coaching Staff

Cindy Cheatham- Head Coach

Cindy Cheatham approaches her first year coaching the Eagles with excitement in rebuilding the Midway College volleyball program.

Coach Cheatham’s volleyball experience began locally at the high school level, here in Woodford County. As an outside hitter and defensive specialist, she played four years at the varsity level and served as a two year team captain on the 11 year regional championship WCHS team.  She also played on several strong club teams in the off-season that competed in both local and out-of-state tournaments, including Florida and Georgia, where she was ultimately recruited to play at the collegiate level.

Cheatham then played as a defensive specialist for Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW), in Americus, Georgia.  The GSW Hurricanes competed in the NCAA, Division II Georgia Alabama Carolina Conference (GACC). In her first season, the Hurricanes earned the conference championship title (one of four consecutive titles.)

Cheatham transferred to Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.  Cheatham currently serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the EKU Department of Communication.  She continues to be active in the volleyball community, playing in local leagues and tournaments as well as occasionally assisting local high school coaching staffs.

Currently serving as the Director of Marketing, Coach Cheatham looks forward to her newest role at Midway College. “There are many aspects that make up a well-rounded and fulfilling college experience. It is important for these young women to learn to perform at their highest potential as athletes, students, and individuals. I look forward to developing a volleyball program that encourages student athletes to be successful both in the classroom and on the court…and I want them to have fun doing it.”

Alison Davis - Assistant Coach

Alison Davis begins her first year as assistant coach for the Midway Eagles volleyball team.  Davis joins Coach Cheatham in rebuilding a new volleyball team after several years without one.

Davis earned her undergraduate degree from Skidmore College in New York state.  She played at the collegiate level for four years as a starting Middle Blocker and served as the team captain her senior year. After college, Davis earned a PhD in Economics from North Carolina State University.  She remained active as a volleyball player participating in club sports and local leagues.

Davis now works as Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Agricultural Economics.
