Cheatham then played as a defensive specialist for Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW), in Americus, Georgia. The GSW Hurricanes competed in the NCAA, Division II Georgia Alabama Carolina Conference (GACC). In her first season, the Hurricanes earned the conference championship title (one of four consecutive titles.)
Cheatham transferred to Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Cheatham currently serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the EKU Department of Communication. She continues to be active in the volleyball community, playing in local leagues and tournaments as well as occasionally assisting local high school coaching staffs.
Currently serving as the Director of Marketing, Coach Cheatham looks forward to her newest role at Midway College. “There are many aspects that make up a well-rounded and fulfilling college experience. It is important for these young women to learn to perform at their highest potential as athletes, students, and individuals. I look forward to developing a volleyball program that encourages student athletes to be successful both in the classroom and on the court…and I want them to have fun doing it.” |
