After finishing the 2007 Spring Season with a record of 18-18 and a conference record of 11-7, the Lady Eagles are primed and ready to make a Conference Championship a reality. They return all aspects of their starting line-up which include, 3 First-Team All-Conference and 2 Second-Team All-Conference players, along with Coach Todd Short’s first KIAC Coach of the Year Award. With the addition of four new faces, Emily Kordenbrock(Dixie Heights), Rebecca Roberts(Dixie Heights), Kayla Stephens(Simon Kenton), and Amanda Hager(East Jessamine), they add new talent to the already experienced line-up.
There will be plenty of tests for the Lady Eagles this season as they take on some of the strongest competition in the bluegrass. Success will rely heavily on the Lady Eagles batting ability, as all hitters in the line-up have great potential. They are no longer green on the field; last year’s freshman infielders, outfielders, and pitchers return as a more confident and experienced group that works well and understands the importance of each position.
Coach Short expects a great deal out of his team this season as he enters his fifth year at the helm. The bar has been raised and the team is ready to match and exceed expectations.
