Guided by the experience of 12 returning riders and bolstered by the enthusiasm of 17 new recruits, the Midway College Western IHSA Team is returning strong for the 2005-2006 season. The team started the season on October 1st, at Wilmington College, Wilmington, OH . After tying for 4th place at the morning show, the team rallied and placed 3rd in the afternoon show. November 12th found the team at Franklin Furnace, OH, at the Ohio University Southern IHSA shows. The team rallied to win the Reserve High Point Team during the morning show. Also taking top honors was freshman member Lisa Macknik, who won High Point Rider at the morning show. Everyone rode well, and the team exhibited tremendous sportsmanship and encouragement throughout the day.
The team will return after the winter break to compete at Morehead, KY on February 11 th. The season will then finish with a home show at Midway College on March 4th!
Midway College is located in IHSA Zone 6 Region 2, which encompasses central Kentucky and Southern Ohio. The team competes against riders from seven other schools including Miami University (OH), Morehead State University, Ohio University Southern, University of Cincinnati, University of Louisville, University of Kentucky and Wilmington College.
