Vaske has traveled the country attending clinics and learning from some of the most respected names in coaching and is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Midway College. As a coach, Vaske is known for her emphasis on fundamentals, her team’s defensive tenacity and fast-paced style of play and her dedication to teaching life lessons through basketball.
Vaske played varsity basketball for four years at Mt. Alvernia High School (Pittsburgh, PA) and was captain during her junior and senior seasons. Vaske was recruited to play basketball at the college level but instead accepted a full academic scholarship to Duquesne University.
Vaske graduated from Duquesne University in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Vaske also earned her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in 2002. Vaske was admitted to the bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and spent five years practicing corporate law as an associate attorney at Watkins Dulac & Roe P.C.
Vaske is the daughter of Regina Caldwell and the late Robert Caldwell, and she has a younger sister, Kate, who is a high school teacher in the Montgomery County, Maryland. Vaske’s husband is a pediatric resident at the University of Kentucky and the couple resides in Lexington.
