Health Care Administration

The Health Care Administration courses Administration are delivered in a cohort format, meeting one evening per week for 18 months. Nursing (ADN and BSN)
In the tradition of Midway's highly successful nursing program, students are able to complete both an Associate's degree and a Bachelor’s degree at the Midway College Campus.  The Associates Degree in Nursing prepares students to become Registered Nurses (RN) and also qualifies those students for admission into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.  All classes are offered in an evening and weekend format allowing students to work if they wish and still attend classes.  The curriculum has a dual focus – team taught classroom theory emphasizing the technical and theoretical aspects of nursing, and concentrated, supervised clinical laboratory experiences in several healthcare agencies in central Kentucky.  Upon successful completion of the ADN program, the student is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and can practice as a registered nurse.

The BSN program, which focuses on the development of leadership skills, is for registered nurses (RN) and combines general education courses with professional nursing theory and the more complex, non-traditional clinical practice.  Consistent with the mission and goals of the College, the BSN program draws from the scientific and humanistic disciplines to prepare professionals in nursing who provide health care and leadership to individuals and their families or other groups in a variety of settings.  This track consists of upper level coursework necessary to complete the Baccalaureate Degree in two years as a full-time student or three years as a part-time student.

Organizational Administration and Leadership
A unique degree completion program that enables students with some college credit to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.  The Organizational Administration and Leadership courses are delivered in a cohort format meeting one evening per week for 18 months. In an environment that optimizes adult learning theory, students earn 45 semester hours of upper level business courses in an accelerated, seminar-style format. Students will be prepared for careers in Real Estate; Law Enforcement; Higher Education; Automotive and Financial Industries.

Professional Studies
The major in Professional Studies is an interdisciplinary degree with an emphasis on the abilities most demanded in the contemporary workplace: oral and written communication, critical thinking, technology and information literacy, and global awareness. Students choosing this major will work closely with their advisors to plan their own courses of study which may be quite broad or focused within one or two disciplines. In all cases the courses chosen will emphasize the areas mentioned above. Also common to all students in this major will be research projects and/or internships emphasizing these requisites. Students will also be strongly encouraged to make travel through internships or the KIIS program a part their programs.

Sport Management
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management prepares students for a professional career related to the delivery and management of sport programs or physical activity in business, community, public and private settings.  The Sport Management courses are delivered in a cohort format meeting one evening per week for 18 months.  Students will be prepared for careers in Sport Marketing and Promotions; Sporting Goods Sales; Facilities Manager; Event Production; Ticket Sales; Parks and Recreation and Sports Media Relations.
