Job Description: 
Students in this position will act as assistant to the Institutional Research/Information System (IRIS) staff. Responsibilities include assisting with maintenance of campus-wide PC inventory in Access database software; maintaining and updating IRIS spreadsheets; assisting with hardware software installs; and assisting with miscellaneous technical support, including PCs, network and telephone equipment. Also, she will assist with data entry, mailings and filing. The individual selected for this position must be self-motivated. Some PC skills required--including familiarity with Windows operating systems (Windows 98 and higher) and word processing.

Financial Aid Work Study

Job Description: 
The purpose of this position is to provide general office support for the financial aid office. Responsibilities include assistance in tracking and preparation of student loan documents; filing and copying; student interaction, both in person and over the telephone; research via campus computer system; shredding documents; typing and stuffing envelopes; basic data entry; mail delivery and other duties as requested. The student(s) selected for this position must be trustworthy, for many confidential documents are handled. Qualifications include attention to detail, pleasant personality and basic keyboard skills. This position has a high degree of contact with students and other financial aid staff.

Equine Work Study

Job Description: 
The student barn manager will assist the barn manager in supervising the daily maintenance of the herd and stables. Responsibilities include supervising and assisting a small group of students while feeding horses, preparing horses for class, treating sick or injured horses, cleaning stalls and other assigned work in the stables. The student barn manager will also supervise weekend activities and feeding at stables as assigned. Those who are Equine Study majors are preferred. Two or more years of "hands on" horse experience helpful. Good communication and telephone skills required.

Job Description: 
The stable assistant will assist the barn and student barn manager in daily maintenance of horse herd stables. Responsibilities include feeding horses in the morning and evening on weekdays according to a posted schedule, daily maintenance of barn and equine facility equipment, bringing in horses for class and grooming if time allows, treating sick or injured horses, and assisting with weekend chores such as feeding and stall cleaning as assigned. Those who are Equine Study majors or have two years of "hands on horse" experience are preferred. Experience in operating farm machinery helpful. Good communication and telephone skills helpful.

Development Office Work Study

Job Description: 
The position helps the admissions office prepare materials to send to prospective students, assist with file management and gives campus tours. The position also helps all admissions staff with special projects and mailings. Specific responsibilities include coding marketing materials with marketing codes, stuffing marketing materials, compiling marketing packets, typing labels, inventory, copying, data entry, running errands on campus, meeting prospective students and their families, and answering the front desk telephone. The ability to work autonomously, typing skills, some computer experience and attention to detail are required.

This position assists the communication center staff with the daily operation of a busy campus support department. Responsibilities include staffing the reception counter to assist customers; photocopying documents for faculty, staff and students; answering the college switchboard; distributing mail to campus departments; and providing general office support to faculty and staff who have requested help through the campus work pool. Training will be provided. Desirable qualities include attention to detail, dependability, good attitude and experience in a customer-driven environment. The ability to multi-task is a must.

Chemistry Work Study

Job Description: 
The function of the chemistry lab assistant is to assist instructors, especially in the preparation and clean up procedures for the chemistry laboratory courses. Responsibilities of the position include preparation of stock solutions, maintenance of chemical and non-chemical inventories, washing glassware, cleaning lab, running errands, photocopying and assistance with grading. Depending on the student's experience, she may be expected to assist in the supervision of undergraduate chemistry laboratory sections. One year of college level chemistry is desirable, but not required.

Must be able to work without supervision after learning the job, and be dependable and responsible. Selected individual(s) will have access to student personal and confidential files including financial data and as such must display a level of maturity and professionalism with regards to the handling and holding in confidence all information. Accounting or Business major preferred. Computer or typing skills would be helpful. Must be able to accurately file both alphabetically and numerically.
