Midway College in Midway, Kentucky is currently working to establish a School of Pharmacy in Paintsville, Kentucky. The process for obtaining precandidate accreditation of a new school of pharmacy is lengthy. Key milestones are:

• April 1, 2010 Submit application for precandidate accreditation to ACPE (accrediting agency)
• June 2010 Meet with ACPE about application, obtain site visit approval
• Fall 2010 Site visit by ACPE in Paintsville and Midway, initiate student application process
• January 2011 ACPE grants precandidate status, applicant interviews begin
