MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway College is pleased to announce a special gift it received in December 2012 that will benefit the students and faculty in the nursing or science program. The gift of $40,000 from the Raymond Foundation to be used for student awards for those majoring in nursing and/or science. Eight students will receive $5,000 scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year.
“We are grateful to the Raymond Foundation for its support of the College with this generous gift. Our nursing program continues to grow and train many of the top nurses in the state,” said Roy Mundy, Vice President of Advancement for Midway College. “It is because of supporters like the Raymond Foundation that Midway College can continue to fulfill its mission of serving the underserved students throughout the Commonwealth.”
Midway College was founded in 1847 as the Kentucky Female Orphan School and since that time the residential campus has remained the only college for women in Kentucky. Co-educational programs are offered in the evening and online in an accelerated format for working adults.
