Midway, Ky.-Midway College is pleased to announce that Scott Fitzpatrick has joined its staff as the new Vice President of Development.
Fitzpatrick is a veteran advancement officer with more than a dozen years in the higher education industry. Most recently Fitzpatrick was the Chief Advancement Officer with the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Prior to this he served several development positions with Georgetown College and was in the financial services field for ten years.
“Scott’s understanding of higher education and his connections within the local community and throughout the state of Kentucky were impressive to us,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, President of Midway College. “His understanding of donor and alumni relations is critical to help Midway College in our advancement efforts. He understands that the needs of a college vary from raising funds for scholarships, events sponsorships, capital campaigns and planned giving. His experience and results-driven personality are just what we need in our advancement office.”
“Midway College is truly a unique place in Kentucky’s higher educational system,” said Fitzpatrick. “It remains the only college for women in the state and has worked to strengthen women’s education since its founding. Also with its non-traditional co-ed programs it truly is a “one-of-a-kind” institution in Kentucky. I hope to put my experience to work with the new leadership of the College to set a foundation for giving back to Midway College to help it reach short term and long term goals.”
Fitzpatrick begins work at Midway College on September 4, 2013.
