Asiyat Alieva, KIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

Midway College junior Asiyat Alieva was named the KIAC women’s tennis player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, October 8th. Midway finished the week with a 2-0 record after defeating Shawnee State (6-3) and Carlow University (5-4). Alieva won her #1 singles match against Shawnee State 6-1, 6-2 and her #1 doubles match 8-6. She finished the week with a #1 singles match victory over Carlow 6-2, 6-1 and a #1 doubles win 8-5. Midway is currently 3-3-1 overall and 2-3 in conference play. They will return to action on October 10th when they host Indiana University East.
