Midway, Ky.— Last night, Midway Basketball got off to a good start leading 12-3. The Eagles went into half time with an 8 point lead, 36-28. A rocky start to the second half lead to a come back by UC-Clermont to take a late 6 point lead 58-52 with three minutes remaining in the game. Janel Wilkerson drew an incredible charge to change the momentum in the Eagles direction. Wilkerson and Whitney Odom hit six big free throws in the last two minutes to bring the game within two with 43 seconds left on the game clock. Whitley Henry lead all scorers with 21 points and added a team high 7 rebounds. The Eagles suit up again @ Purdue-Calumet (IN) Friday, November 4, 2011 at 5:30 pm.
Coach Mohler on the game: “We played extremely hard with a fairly inexperienced team. We still have a lot of learning to do but you can not refute the work ethic these young women possess. It was a fun game to play, watch and coach. We are looking forward to improving and playing our best ball down the stretch!”
