Midway, Ky.— - Midway College is pleased to announce that it has received a $30,000 gift from Joe Graviss and the Graviss Family McDonald’s Restaurants. The funds are for the new Learning Resource Center on the main Midway Campus.
The Learning Resource Center opened in September 2011. Built on the footprint of the historic Starks Hall, the new $5 million, state-of- the-art Learning Resource Center is now home to our Business, Equine Studies, and Teacher Education programs as well as our Registrar’s Office.
The Learning Resource Center, which stands three stories and offers 32, 242 square feet of space, has been designed for the College’s growth. There are 48 faculty offices, 5 academic suites, and 4 conference rooms. Additionally the building offers wireless internet access, classrooms with smart board technology for faculty presentations, and is handicap accessible. One of the most unique features is that it includes a new indoor equine laboratory to facilitate student research. One
classroom was designed to accommodate up to 80 students which allows space for the nursing program to double its capacity. In addition, there is a new Teacher Education Resource Center for our students studying to be the next generation of teachers.
