Midway College has been a part of my life since 2000. My roles have ranged from student (graduating class of 2004) to instructor (Equine Studies) to Admissions Counselor (Day and SCD) and now Director (SCD Evening program) Over the years, I have come to appreciate the unique attitude and commitment that Midway College shows towards the education of all types of students. After completing bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Equine Studies through Midway’s traditional Women’s College, I felt that another educational step was necessary. I enrolled in an evening master’s program in business through a local institution, and was faced with one of the hardest educational experiences in my life. I had to balance a full-time job with attending class three times per week in order to complete my MBA in two years! As a working adult it was very hard to keep focused on three different classes at once while maintaining a full-time job. I can appreciate the cohort format Midway uses, allowing students to focus on one class at a time. Currently I am continuing to pursue my educational goals with a master’s degree in International Relations. My situation is similar to many of the SCD students: juggling a full-time job and family commitments while completing graduate studies at night. It is this personal experience that helps me support and empathize with students preparing to study in the School for Career Development.

I have worked at Midway College for the past six years, serving as a counselor and advisor to students in our School for Career Development. During the summer of 2009, I accepted the position of School for Career Development Admissions Coordinator for Off Site Programs. My educational background includes receiving my Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. After completion of my B.S. Degree, I worked in the public school setting as a teacher, counselor, coach, athletic director, and school principal. I completed my M.A. Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling as well as my Rank I certification through Eastern Kentucky University. I currently have 48 hours above my M. A. Degree in Administration and Supervision.

I received my M.A. Degree and Rank I certification by attending college during evenings and summer sessions while maintaining a full time job and a family consisting of a wife and three children. Therefore, I fully understand, empathize, support, and admire students such as yourself, that may be working full time or have family and personal commitments that make completing your degree challenging. But let me assure you that our degree program options through Midway College provide you with a unique opportunity by allowing you to attend classes during the evenings or week ends.

I am a new addition to the staff here at Midway having recently graduated with a B.S. in Communications and a minor in Business from the University of Kentucky. During my short time on campus I have developed a profound respect for the non-traditional student and the overall mission of the college. I truly feel at home here at Midway and am excited to help you learn about all the great opportunities available within the School for Career Development.

I am the data specialist for the Women's College and the School for Career Development. I am originally from Wisconsin and, yes, I love cheese and am a big Green Bay fan. In addition to being an employee of the college I am also a graduate, having received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration in May of 2008. While attending Midway I spent my extra time playing for Coach Hoffman on the tennis team. Although I miss my family very much, Kentucky has become my home and I am honored to be a part of the Midway College family.

I came to Midway College with first hand experience of what it feels like to be a non-traditional student. These experiences have allowed the opportunity to appreciate the mission of Midway College and I find it rewarding helping individuals realize their educational goals.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and am currently a few classes from completing a Master Degree by attending college during the evenings and summer sessions while maintaining a full-time job and a single-parent household with two teenage children. Therefore, I fully understand the hard work that stems from continued education and admire all those individuals that accept the challenge toward increasing their academic profile.
I understand that college can be both a time of excitement and uncertainty therefore I will do my best to answer any questions prospective students may have that will ease their transition back into the classroom.

I came to Midway College with over thirteen years of experience in higher education administration. I have successfully worked in various areas on a college campus to include financial aid, veteran’s affairs, registration, advising and admissions. Having completed a Master’s degree in Education as a full-time student and single mother while working as a graduate assistant in the morning and at UPS at night, I truly appreciate that commitment and sacrifice that adult learners make to return to college to make a better life for themselves and their families. I am here to assist students in every step of their journey here at Midway College.
