Scholarship Information:

Midway College has been providing a superior education for women for over 150 years. We do everything possible to make the Midway experience achievable…and affordable! That is why we have developed a comprehensive program of merit scholarships as well as athletic and need based scholarships. Each year, over 90 percent of our students participate in our financial assistance programs. In 2002, Midway College administered over $4.5 million in institutional, state and federal aid.

For merit scholarships, admitted students who are full-time students in Midway’s women’s college are eligible for consideration. For need-based scholarships, students must complete and file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 15. This form is available in December from your high school guidance counselor or from the Midway College Office of Admission. Students are strongly encouraged to file the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The information provided is used to compute your family’s Expected Family Contribution ( EFC ). A formula developed by the U.S. Congress is used for the calculation. From the information supplied, Midway College will be able to calculate your eligibility for State, Federal and College need-based programs.

If you qualify for more than one institutional scholarship, you will be awarded the one with the highest dollar amount. If you are an athlete, you may be eligible for an athletic scholarship in conjunction with a merit or need-based grant; however, there is a limit to the amount of institutional aid the College will award. You should contact the coach of the appropriate sport for eligibility and award information. Please note that members of the equestrian teams are part of the athletic department and riding scholarships are awarded according to the procedures detailed above. Amounts of athletic awards vary.
