Midway
College personnel supervise the students and provide
care related to the boarding of the horses: hay, straw,
and grain are provided as needed. Full care boarders
have their own stall, and spend time in the barn and
in the field. Pasture care horses have a place in a
large field with plenty of natural shelter. Full care
is $400 per month. Pasture care is $225 per month. Donamire
Farm is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 365 days a
year.
On occasion, the college conducts equitation classes, organized trail rides and other activities on the farm. Organized hunt seat lessons and riding team practices are also held at Donamire. In addition, equestrian students who have paid the equitation fee and who have permission may free-ride on Midway College horses. Donamire Farm offers 50 acres of wooded property and creeks for the students' riding pleasure.
This is a unique opportunity
only given to Midway College students. To arrange a
visit, please call 859-252-3245.
