The major in professional studies is an interdisciplinary degree with an emphasis on the abilities most demanded in the contemporary workplace;
- Oral and written communication,
- Critical thinking,
- Technology and information literacy, and
- Global awareness.
Students choosing this major will work closely with their advisors to plan their own courses of study which may be quite broad or focused within one or two disciplines. In all cases the courses chosen will emphasize the areas mentioned above. Also common to all students in this major will be research projects and/or internships emphasizing these requisites. Students will also be strongly encouraged to make travel through internships or the KIIS program a part their programs.
