All students under twenty-one (21) years of age are required to live on campus unless they meet one or more of the following criteria:
• are married
• have dependents
• reside with parents or a legal guardian within a 50-mile radius of Midway College
• are registered for less than 12 semester hours.
Housing exemptions may not be granted if a student receives one of the following scholarships: Athletic, Bowling, Presidential, Ruth Slack Roach, or Trustee. As per the criteria of these scholarships, students receiving one of these scholarships must live on campus. Students risk reduction or total loss of the above scholarships if they choose to live off campus.
Students who believe that they qualify for an exemption to live off-campus must submit a Housing Exemption Request to the Director of Residence Life before the new academic year begins.
A student who does not meet the criteria to live off-campus, but who believes there are extenuating circumstances to her situation, may submit a Housing Exemption Request form to the Director of Residence Life. Exemption requests that are denied may be appealed to the Dean of Student Services. Please keep in mind that financial aid packages may be adjusted if you decide to live off-campus.
All campus residents must be full-time students enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours of academic work for any given semester. Any exceptions must be cleared with the Director of Residence Life and the Dean of Student Services.
