Midway College’s expansive equestrian facilities allow for multiple riding venues through its indoor and outdoor arenas, jumping field, dressage ring, and 70 acres of pastureland.
Overlooking the main campus, the Midway College Equestrian Center (EC) is a state-of-the-art education and training facility. The EC’s 105x235 foot indoor arena, specifically constructed for the safety of horse and rider, hosts intercollegiate horse shows throughout the year. An equine laboratory, classroom, and audio-visual room, as well as stalls, tack room, offices, and other amenities, make up the layout of the EC. Equine students, teams, staff and coaches enjoy the use of the unparalleled resources of the EC.
In addition to the EC, the Keeneland Stable houses a large indoor arena where equine students master their equitation skills. With 16 stalls, tack room, washroom, office space, and a wide aisle-way for the safety and ease of horses and students, Keeneland is a comprehensive, self-contained training and education center.
The Ashland Stable and Theurkauf Outdoor Riding Arena compliment the two large equine centers thus combining for a comprehensive facility that meets the demands of all riding disciplines and equine training needs. The success of the facility is evidenced by the repeated success of Midway’s equine riding teams at the national level.
The multi-purpose Marshall Gymnasium, located in the McManis Student Center, is home to the Eagle Basketball and Volleyball teams. High-tech flooring, sound system, and scoring equipment support the performance of our teams. Adjacent to the gymnasium are fully equipped weight and cardio rooms for training and conditioning and the athletic training and locker rooms.
Marshall Gymnasium seats up to 1500 spectators ready to cheer our Midway Eagles to victory!
At the front of the campus a lush green blanket of hybrid Bluegrass, Jaguar fescue, & Vamont Bermuda grass provides the playing surface of the College’s soccer field. The actual field is augmented by additional training and spectator areas and a tree-lined landscape making it a high-performing and scenic soccer facility.
The College’s softball complex is located a few blocks from the main campus. The field’s construction exceeds the standards of most inter-collegiate fast-pitch facilities with superior drainage, playability, and lighting for evening competitions. Dug-outs for home and visitor teams and spectator seating complete the setting for the Midway Softball Eagles’ home victories.
