Cross Country Season Outlook

2011 should be an exciting season for the Midway Cross-Country team! Six newcomers join the Midway Team this year and with no seniors and only one returning member from last years team this will be a year for growth and a chance for the Midway harriers to redifine Midway Cross-Country. "This is the best recruiting class I've ever had at Midway and I am excited to get to work with these talented and very hard working young ladies for years to come" states head coach John Davisson. That recruting class includes Jazmin Turney a Nursing major from Brooksville, FL, her sister Kristen Turney a sophmore transfer who will major in Sports Management, Brooke Stigers from Frankfort, KY who will also major in nursing, and Lauren Jones a biology major from Lancaster, KY. Juniors Melody Small and Kelsey Santa Cruz are also joining the team this year after running track for Midway last Spring. The lone returner for the Cross-Country Eagles is team captain Megan Barnish, a Junior Equine major from Melrose Park, IL.

Off the course the 2010 team has big shoes to fill academically as the 2010 team was named an NAIA Scholar-team and had the 13th highest combined GPA of all teams in the NAIA (Women's and Men's teams from all sports).

If you want to be part of an up and coming Cross-Country team and you think Midway College might be the place for you I would love to hear from you!
