Mouth Guard Policy

Effective during the Fall semester 2007, Midway College requires all student-athletes in the contact/collision sports of soccer and basketball to wear a mouth guard during all portions of practices and competitive events. Student-athletes in the limited contact sports of specific field events (high jump, pole vault) horseback riding, softball, and volleyball are encouraged to wear mouth guards during all practices and competitive events.

Student-athletes may use or purchase their own mouth guard, or may purchase a “boil and bite” mouth guard from the Head AT (cost $1.00) and have it prepared for fitting in the AT Clinic.
