Historically, Ray Harm is the founding artist of the Limited Edition Print Industry as it is known today. Incorporated and launched in 1962, Ray Harm Wildlife evolved into a venture that today enables artists to photolithograph and distribute copies of their work at a much more affordable price to the buyer than the artist's original work. Signed and numbered copies insure, by the artist's signature, the limited and approved quality of the edition. Ultimately, these endeavors led to the formation of the successful Frame House Gallery Publishing Company that showcased the work of many talented wildlife artists.
In November 1999, Decor magazine listed Ray Harm as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. According to Decor magazine, "Harm is a cofounder of the modern limited edition reproduction industry. Harm says he was struggling to make a living selling his wildlife originals in the early 1960s when he teamed with Wood Hannah to establish the limited edition publishing company, Frame House Gallery. Soon, reproductions of Harm's wildlife paintings were spreading around the country; those early works helped set the standards for today's limited edition reproductions. Harm helped pave the way for later artists..." Also listed in the article were artists like Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Georgia O'Keeffe and Ansel Adams.
Midway College is privileged to offer a limited number of "Eagle" signed and number prints (pictured on the left) to alumni and friends of the college. This limited edition piece is destined to become a classic among wildlife art collectors. The cost of the unframed print is $150.00.
A portion of the funds received from the sale of this beautiful work of art will be used to support the Midway College Scholarship Fund.
