Midway College ’s diverse and substantive academic programs continue to impress me. As a newcomer, it is clear to me that much of what goes on here takes place quietly – with little fanfare- yet our teaching, research and outreach activities are transforming students, professionals and our communities in countless ways.
Even more impressive is the financial support provided by the alumni and friends of Midway College – the essential pillars of our College for almost 160 years. We sometimes hear alumni, especially recent graduates, say they don’t give because they cannot make a big donation, fearing that the gift won’t make an impact. In fact, “alumni giving” participation rate is very important in so many ways.
Not only does your gift increase the College’s alumni participation rate, but our alumni and friends who make gifts in the $25 to $1000 range make a positive impact in securing operating funds. Those gifts help change lives. Your gifts to the Annual Fund strengthen academic programs, provide scholarship support, and enhance our program quality and advance technology and research. Through your outright gift, your support has an immediate impact on our students.
Your participation is valuable for another reason, as well. When foundations and corporations consider Midway College for major grant funding, they look at the number of alumni and donors who contribute to the Annual Fund as a factor to help them decide. Thus, your financial support helps our reputation and, in turn, increases the value of each degree we issue.
Supporting the Annual Fund is an opportunity for you to give back. One of the great traditions of American higher education is how graduates support their alma mater. Great universities have prospered and grown in large part due to strong financial support from their graduates and friends. No matter where a student attends, few are able to afford the “real” cost of a college education. Over 90 percent of Midway College students receive some form of institutional assistance to help them graduate.

Stephens St. , Midway, KY 40347 or by going to the Midway College website www.midway.edu and clicking on Alumni Affairs, and we will send you a pledge form. Your employer may even be able to match your gift and some may double or triple it. Check if your company participates on the Alumni page of www.midway.edu or ask your human resource office for a matching gift form, fill it out and return it to us with your check today.
