General Education requirements for an Associate Degree

Critical Thinking and Studies in Diversity (CT 101)*. 3
Mathematics (One course MA 140 or higher)* 3
Oral Communication (COM 205*) 3
Composition (ENG 101* and ENG 102*). 6
Natural Sciences (Any Biological (BIO) or Physical (PSC) Science with a lab) 4
Behavioral or Sociological Sciences (Any PSY, SOC, HIS, or SS course) 3
Arts and Humanities (Spanish is required for Teacher Education, Nursing and Equine majors)  
Art (ART), Humanities (HUM), Literature (ENG-Literature) or any Foreign Language course,
Music (MUS), Philosophy (PHIL), Religion (REL)		 3

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated Computer Competency
  • *Minimum grade of “C” required for graduation
  • ACT Math score of 18; or SAT Math score of 490; or MAPP Math score of 111 for MA 140 or higher
  • ACT English score of 18; or SAT Writing score of 450; or MAPP Writing score of 112 for English 101
  • Students who have completed two years of high school Spanish with a grade of “C” or better may choose an alternative course to satisfy the Arts and Humanities requirement

  • All Women’s College students are required to take one three-hour course designated as Women’s Studies.  Does not apply to School for Career Development or Online students.
