This division provides oversight for the English and Interdisciplinary Studies degree programs, as well as many of the General Education offerings in all colleges (Art, Communication, Critical Thinking, French, History, Humanities, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Social Science, Spanish, and Women’s Studies).

In addition to serving as chair of the division of Arts & Humanities / General Education, Lesia Holder is the Assistant Academic Dean and teaches elementary French.  She received her B.A. in French from Murray State University, her M.A. in French from the University of Kentucky, and completed one year of doctoral coursework in French Literature at Tulane University.  She is presently pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy Studies and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky. 

Ms. Holder worked in academic affairs at Midway for three years before transferring to Berea College, where she gained experience in academic, financial, and student affairs.  She returned to Midway in her new role in August of 2008.
