Midway College, founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), is the only Women's College in Kentucky and provides accelerated degree completion and graduate programs for both women and men through evening and online delivery. Nursing Faculty

Midway College seeks Nursing Faculty to teach undergraduate courses in seat and online.

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in accelerated undergraduate, graduate programs and online programs. The College is located in the Bluegrass region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

We seek an individual who is committed to teaching and mentoring students and who will work with the Program Director to enhance the rigor, currency, and quality of the program while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Duties are teaching in-seat and online, developing curriculum, advising students, serving on committees, and scholarship.

Required qualifications: Doctorate or Masters Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. Experience teaching at the college level and a minimum of two years of Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing experience.

Assistant Professor of Biology

Midway College seeks an Assistant Professor of Biology to teach undergraduate courses.

Founded in 1847, the institution serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’ College and both men and women in accelerated undergraduate programs and online programs. The College is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is with driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

We seek an individual who is committed to teaching and mentoring students and who will work with the Department Chair and the Dean to expand the Biology program.

Duties are teaching in-seat and online courses, developing curriculum, advising students, serving on committees, and scholarship.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology with specialization in cell biology, microbiology, genetics, immunology, and/or a related field. Ability to teach genetics, microbiology, and cell biology strongly desired.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in teaching a variety of biology courses at the college level including non-majors biology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, immunology, histology, and/or embryology. Ability to teach human anatomy and physiology is also desirable.

Staff

Resident Director

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in evening accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

We seek an individual who will direct and administer a comprehensive residence life program in one of the two all-female residence halls on campus.

Duties include staff selection, training and supervision of 3 to 4 Resident Assistants, student conduct, mediation, community development, and administrative/facilities management responsibilities normally associated with residential living. This includes facilitating and attending department meetings, weekly staff meetings, and individual one on one meetings. This position will collaborate with Student Affairs staff members and campus security to help provide a secure residential living environment. Night and weekend duty rotation is required. This position reports to the Director of Residence Life and the First-Year Experience.

This is a twelve month, live-in position; beginning February 1st, 2015, with a small stipend and an apartment, phone service, cable TV, Wi-Fi internet access, utilities and meals. Bachelor’s degree and Residence Life experience preferred.

Assistant Softball Coach

We are seeking applicants for a regular, part-time, 10-month Assistant Softball Coach position.

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in evening accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

This position is responsible for supporting all aspects of a successful women’s softball program at the NAIA level. Primary responsibilities include assistance with recruiting, game assistance, practice planning and supervision, academic supervision, eligibility compliance, and driving of a fifteen passenger van.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree, coaching experience, at the college or high school level, and ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes.

Multicultural Affairs Assistant

The Office of Multicultural and International Affairs (OMIA) at Midway College seeks an innovative emerging educational professional to join us as Multicultural Affairs Assistant.

This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist Director and Coordinator to ensure that OMIA fulfills its mission and goals; assist with every day operation of the office, including secretarial support duties as assigned by the Director and Coordinator; helps plan, coordinate and deliver program and events that heighten cultural awareness, and appreciation of cultural diversity and multicultural understanding, ensuring ample campus participation; communicate the goals and activities of OMIA through presentations to diverse constituencies on and off campus; collaborate with the Admissions Office providing general counseling to new underrepresented minority and international students regarding admission processes, academic programs, and financial aid options; collaborate with the Student Affairs Office, to ensure retention of underrepresented minority and international students; ensure that documentation and collection of data is met in order to create a historical record of activities and events; manage social media/website and newsletter to expand communications; coordinate Host Family Program for international students; helps plan, coordinate and implement activities and events for PATH Mentoring Program.

Candidates must be able to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously. Work well with other units and groups across campus, at other higher education institutions, and various community organizations. Must be a self-starter, creative, well organized and detail oriented person able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidate will have a strong record of achievement and adaptability to change. Work related travel and irregular hours including evening and weekend work are required.
Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Keeps communication channels open at all time within the department, the institution and greater community
• Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, desire to learn and willingness to adapt to change
• General knowledge of community and/or social service resources and programs
• In-depth knowledge of Midway’s liberal arts mission, academic programs, and educational outcomes
• Valid drivers license; driving record investigation is required

KIAC COMMISSIONER

The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) is accepting resumes and nominations for the position of Conference Commissioner. The KIAC is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is comprised of 12 institutions in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. More comprehensive information about the KIAC can be found at www.kiacsports.com. The starting date for the position is July 1, 2015 following the retirement of the current commissioner.

The conference sponsors championships in the following sports: Baseball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Soccer, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Track and Field and Volleyball.

Candidates for this position should display strong leadership and motivational qualities with proven oral and written communication skills.
