Assistant Professor of Nursing

Midway College seeks an Assistant Professor of Nursing to teach undergraduate courses in seat and online.

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in accelerated undergraduate, graduate programs and online programs. The College is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

We seek an individual who is committed to teaching and mentoring students and who will work with the Program Director to enhance the rigor, currency, and quality of the program while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Required qualifications: Doctorate Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. Experience teaching at the college level and a minimum of two years of Nursing experience.

Athletic Director

Midway University is seeking applicants for the position of Athletic Director. This is a full-time, 12 month position reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of the Women’s College. The Athletic Director provides leadership and direction for Midway University’s competitive intercollegiate sports program, which includes Basketball, Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, Softball, Archery, Hunt Seat and Western Equitation. The Athletic Director is responsible for maintaining an athletic program that stresses the student-athlete concept, and is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Midway University, the KIAC, and the NAIA.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in sport management, athletics administration or related field (Bachelor’s degree required); a minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level; and a working knowledge of KIAC and NAIA rules and regulations. Required Qualifications are a strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and to providing a positive environment for student-athletes and coaches, strong organizational and supervisory skills; effective oral and written communication skills; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the public; and the ability to think creatively and to lead and manage change in a positive and inclusive manner.

Development Officer

Midway University is seeking a Development Officer to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects for major and/or annual gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations or estates. This position should have an understanding of complex and sensitive areas such as major gifts, planned giving or corporate and foundation relations.

Midway University, founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), is the only Women’s University in Kentucky and provides accelerated degree completion and graduate programs for both women and men through evening and online delivery. Committed to both the liberal arts and professional programs, the University offers degrees leading to the associate and bachelors levels as well as graduate degree programs in business and education. More than 120 acres of the 200 acre campus are dedicated to the University’s equine program.

The Development Officer will make direct solicitation calls to potential donors and compose follow up call reports; cultivate prospects for major, corporate, leadership, foundation, or planned gifts; have extensive contact with potential donors, corporate officials, foundation officers and/or financial advisors to generate gift proposals; assist in activities related to the annual fund, alumni relations, special events and community relations; oversee the President’s Circle Giving Society, coordinating stewardship activities and developing strategies to grow this group of donors; oversee all activities related to annual Phonathon to solicit gifts from alumni, including recruitment of callers and follow-up to donors; identify potential major donors based on information from Donor Research, other development officers and external contacts; draft proposals, letters and agreements to close gifts; act as liaison with community support groups and may solicit donations for various funds.

A qualified applicant must possess proven customer relations experience and outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written), excellent organizational, detail skills and be able to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Bachelor’s Degree required, with 2 years direct experience in fundraising. Midway University offers comparable salary plus an excellent benefits package.
